Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information FreeImage Tools may collect and how it is used. We designed the site so that most image processing happens locally in your browser, but some parts of the site do involve limited data handling, described below.

Information we may collect

We do not require account creation to use our basic image tools. The information we may collect is limited to:

• Contact form data — if you submit our contact form or email us, we receive the name, email address, subject and message you provide, solely to respond to your inquiry.
• Standard web server logs — like most websites, our hosting infrastructure may log basic technical information such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited, for security and troubleshooting purposes.
• Analytics, if enabled — we may use privacy-conscious analytics to understand aggregate site usage (e.g. which tools are most popular). If enabled, this does not include the content of any image you process.

Browser-based image processing

Wherever a tool description says it processes images locally, that image data is handled using your browser's own capabilities (such as the Canvas API) and is not uploaded to our servers. Some tools, such as the Image to Text (OCR) tool, load a third-party JavaScript library from a public CDN to run entirely within your browser — the image itself is still not sent to that third party's servers.

Cookies

We may use minimal cookies necessary for basic site functionality. If analytics are enabled, they may set their own cookies to distinguish unique visitors; consult the relevant analytics provider's documentation for details.

Third-party libraries

Some tools load open-source libraries from public content delivery networks (CDNs) to provide functionality such as OCR. These requests are subject to the respective CDN and library provider's own policies.

Data security

We take reasonable measures to protect any information submitted to us, such as contact form messages, but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

Data retention

Contact form submissions are retained only as long as needed to respond to your inquiry, after which they may be deleted.

Your rights

You may contact us at any time to ask what information we hold about you (typically limited to any message you've sent us) and to request its deletion.

Policy updates

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes to the site. The "last updated" date above will change accordingly.
